Services: Soil Joy offers compost workshops and soil/microscope sessions to individuals, community organizations, and schools. Composting is a community-bonding ritual that puts us in sync with the harmonious cycles of nature, where nothing is wasted, and everything is used. Workshops can range from a few hours to multi-day hot composting workshops that take your group through the whole process of sourcing ingredients, making and monitoring piles, and applying compost. Making good compost = thinking like a microbe. Soil session participants learn about key microbe players and their roles in the soil food web through the lens of a microscope.
