In order to garden successfully in Calgary’s short growing season, we need all the help we can get! Gaining the knowledge and skills to propagate your own plants in various ways is an invaluable tool that will save you time and money, while helping you get a jump on the growing season! In this in-depth workshop, Janet Melrose, Calgary’s Cottage Gardener, will take us through:
-types and techniques of vegetative propagation, including division, cuttings and layering
-tips & tricks and pitfalls to avoid
-how to give your new plants a successful launch come the growing season.
There will be plenty of opportunity to practice some propagation methods and take home the results!
