
With Bill 24 (An Act to Support GSAs) currently being debated in Legislature and the UCP stating they will vote against it, it is more important than ever for us to stand together in defence of safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for all students.
All are welcome to join us outside the MacDougall Provincial Building (455 6 St SW in Calgary on Treaty 7 land) to stand with us in solidarity and add your voice in support.
Gay-straight alliances (GSAs) or queer-straight alliances (QSAs) are student lead and staff supported organizations that promote the creation of peer support networks and foster welcoming, caring, respectful and safe environments for LGBTQ2+ students and their allies.
They are often one of the first places youth will feel safe and accepted, the first place they might come out, and so much more.
As such, they’re an absolutely essential resource that must exist in schools to effectively support youth.
